Happy Friday again from the sweltering New Forest!
August is normally a month when business and life generally quietens down a little, the mad rush of busyness in life takes a gentler pace and we are able to rest, recharge and take stock before new beginnings in September.
However this year feels very different. The world has been increasingly crazy with repeated shocks for well over 2 years now and the impact on us all is greater than any of us could have forseen before the start of the pandemic.
And now with our heatwave on top of the economic and political challenges surrounding us it seems that everyone is frazzled in way more than the temperature sense. People are more stressed, quicker to be reactive, struggling more and more to see the bigger picture as they struggle with their own “stuff” and yet showered constantly with negativity from the press about cataclysmic dramas and potential disasters all over the world. It is more than our human brains have evolved to deal with as we are bombarded with so much in such a short time.
But how would it be if we could take a step right back and look at our lives, our careers, our relationships, our environment, our finances, our health, our place in the world and see it from a slightly different perspective? To take a step back, just very slightly, and consider which parts of our lives we can truly influence to enhance our effectiveness, our enjoyment, our pleasure and our success in its truest sense, not just economically but as human beings? To see where we can really make some sort of a positive shift and start on some new strategies?
In coaching we look at every facet of an individual’s life and really focus on what we do want in life and what we really can change and influence to get there. For so many of us right now the outcome could be a very different view of where to focus our energy and time to feel more fulfilled and less frazzled.
Starting in September I will be offering “walking coaching” in the beautiful New Forest. We’d do some preparation before meeting but the power of walking and talking in a stunning part of the world surrounded by nature can really help with clarifying our thinking, help put things in perspective and enable us to use our brains and our energies in a more positive way.

Meanwhile please remember to be kind to yourselves and those around you. We’re all dealing with “stuff” and there’s much to be gained from supporting one another in these exceptionally challenging times.
